Aastha to me is an Institution of promise, purpose, and commitment.
It is also an Institution which is struggling with problems of growth
and diversity.
In my mind it essentially started as one persons dream though there
were many co-travelers in the initial part of its journey. It went
through a very difficult period when many deserted the institution.
It took some time and great effort from the patriarch to bring in new
set of people who shared some common frameworks and helped the
institution to find its feet and grow at a steady pace.
I started my association with Aastha initially out of my fondness for
Seetha, who in my mind was the founder and the progenitor. I was also
attracted for the purpose for which the institution stood. It took me
couple of years to move from my commitment to the person Seetha to
the institution Aastha. The transition was indeed a very slow process
but nevertheless a steady one.
The transition from an event member or in simpler terms a visiting
facilitator to an institutional member has been a very meaningful and
exhilarating journey for me. This transition has been facilitated not
only by my committing to the values of Aastha but greatly fuelled by
the active involvement and commitment by a bunch of young people who
joined the institution over the last three years.
Today, Aastha to me is an Institution committed to:
I see Aastha growing from strength to strength with the new set of
highly committed and enthusiastic young members. For a 60 year young
man this is indeed a very rewarding experience.
